Phuket Rainy Day Activity Guide
If it's raining in paradise or you just need a break from outdoor activities consider these options.
Shopping at Jungceylon or Central Festival
Phuket is home to two large, modern shopping malls, one: Jungceylon, right near Patong Beach and the other: Central Festival, inland near Phuket Town. Both are modern, have some international and some local brands, and also have dozens of sit-down restaurants and food court stalls to eat at, too.
Tour Old Phuket Town
Historic Phuket Town in Southeast Phuket has museums, historic buildings, some shopping and a handful of nice restaurants.
Visit a Museum
Though Phuket isn't a cultural destination per se(much of the island's development happened after or as a result of the tourism boom) there are a few museums on the island where you can learn a little about Thai history and/or culture. The Phuket Thaihua Museum in Phuket Town is probably the nicest museum on the island and the Thalang National Museum is the official government museum.
Take a Cooking Class
Phuket has dozens of cooking schools from fancy, tourist-oriented classes at Blue Elephant in Phuket Town to ones that focus on organic produce. Most classes run for half a day starting in the morning; book in advance as classes can fill up quickly. Try Thai Cooking Class.
Try Thai Massage or Visit a Spa
A two hour Thai massage is the perfect way to spend a rainy day. The island is filled with small massage shops and resort spas. Massage at Sukko Spa.
