Are there any hotels near the pier in Phuket?
There are no hotels in the immediate pier area, so we recommend staying near the centre or west of the island. Most hotels can arrange a taxi or minivan transfer to the pier — ask your hotel concierge once you have booked, or arrange a transfer in advance on 12Go.
Where is the pier?
In Phuket boats leave from Rassada Pier, Sea Angel Pier (also known as Phuket-PhiPhi Port, on Koh Siray), or Chalong Pier. Sea Angel Pier is reached by crossing the bridge to Koh Siray and turning right after about 300 metres. If you hire a driver, they will know the pier locations — the Andaman region is small and locals navigate well. From Krabi, boats leave from Klong Jilad Pier and arrive at Tonsai Bay on Phi Phi. From Ao Nang, boats leave from Nopparat Thara Pier and arrive at Tonsai Bay. On Phi Phi, boats leave from Tonsai Pier. On Railay, the waiting point is in front of the Sun Tropical Resort on West Railay. On Koh Lanta, boats leave from Saladan Pier. Passengers booked for Laem Tong Beach on Phi Phi will transfer to another boat at Tonsai Bay — this transfer is included in the price.
Can we bring any luggage?
The ferry ticket includes ferry transport, luggage fees and handling. There are no limitations on your personal luggage amount or weight.
Can we buy food on the ferry?
Ferries to and from Phi Phi serve light refreshments on board. Snacks can also be bought during the trip.
Will the weather conditions affect my travels?
Ferries sail every day except in extreme weather. Schedules are approximate and may be modified without notice depending on tide and sea conditions. On windy days the crossing may take longer; if you are prone to seasickness, take a tablet 30 minutes before boarding. You will need to remain indoors during the trip. On sunny days the sun deck is open to passengers. Operators may cancel sailings or change departure times without notice for safety reasons — refunds and compensation in such cases are subject to the operator policy shown during booking on 12Go.
How do I find my boat?
Please print your confirmation ticket and bring it with you to the pier. Show the boat staff your e-mail confirmation ticket and they will give you a sticker, and/or boarding pass. They will show you which boat to board, and the staff will help you to get your luggage on board. In Phuket, you will find the staff at booths in front of the boat loading area. Elsewhere, you will find the staff near the boats usually wearing boat uniforms.
Can we buy tickets at the pier?
Yes, most operators sell tickets directly at the pier. Booking online via 12Go in advance secures your seat — useful in high season (November–April) when boats can sell out — and lets you compare schedules across all operators in one place. Prices can vary between channels: check the operator counter on the day if you want to compare, but availability is not guaranteed.

When is low / high season?
Low season is during the summer season months (May-October). At this time the number of boats is reduced. Boats to outlying islands may be cancelled due to irregular weather conditions. High season is during the winter season months (November- April), boats to outlying islands are increased and schedules may change at a week or two’s notice. If you are travelling in the transition periods, please be prepared for schedule changes.
Are the ferries safe?
Ferries on these routes are regulated and approved by Thai authorities, and many vessels are modern. Standard maritime travel guidance applies: when boarding, take a moment to note where the exits and life jackets are. For peace of mind, check whether your existing travel insurance covers boat trips — most general travel policies do.
Can we travel with children?
Yes, children travel on these ferries every day. Age cutoffs for child and infant pricing vary by operator and are shown during booking on 12Go. You can usually bring car seats and strollers as part of your luggage. The boats are safe for children, but you remain responsible for their safety on board — locate the life jackets, supervise your children at all times, and bring seasickness medication if needed (consult your doctor before giving any medication).
Can I cancel my booking?
Cancellation rules are set by each ferry operator and handled by 12Go, where you made the booking. The exact terms — refund amount, deadline before departure — are shown during checkout and on your booking confirmation. To cancel or check your eligibility, log in to your 12Go account or contact their support team.

Yes, depending on the operator's policy. Rescheduling is handled by 12Go, where you made your booking. Log in to your 12Go account or use the contact link on your confirmation email — they will process the change. Most operators allow changes up to 24–48 hours before departure, sometimes with a small fee.

How to get transportation from the airport to Rassada pier or Sea Angel pier (Phuket)
The easiest way to reach the pier from Phuket Airport is a metered taxi. Exit the terminal, follow the sidewalk to the right until you reach the metered taxi sign — the fare to the pier is around 450 baht and the trip takes about an hour depending on traffic. Each taxi fits three people with luggage. For groups of four or more, book a private minivan transfer in advance via 12Go or arrange one through your hotel.
I forgot to book a minivan or land transfer with my ferry.
On 12Go you can search for combined ferry + land transfer bundles (look for routes labeled "Ferry + Van" or similar). If you already booked just the ferry, you can either go back to 12Go and book a separate transfer, or arrange a taxi or minivan at the pier on arrival — that is straightforward in Phuket and most island destinations.

Who do I contact if my question is not answered here?
For anything related to your booking — confirmation, schedule changes, refunds, missed boats — contact 12Go directly via the support link in your confirmation email or on their site. They handle all booking-side queries.
How will I find my taxi service at the pier?
Upon arrival at the pier, look for a driver with the location of your choice indicated on a card. The driver may also have your name written on the card. If you do not spot one in the first 2 minutes, ask ferry personnel to help locate the driver.
Will I have enough time to catch my flight?

During high season, we strongly advise you not to book ferry trips on the same day as any scheduled flight. Please bear in mind that our ferries may be delayed for various reasons and this might effect your travel itinerary. If you cannot avoid such circumstances, then our firm advice is to pre-arrange a private taxi from your arrival pier to the airport. We do not want you to miss any flights at all and this is our best advice to you. Some guidelines are: If you plan to catch a connecting flight upon arriving Phuket with our ferries, please calculate AT LEAST 3 hours from arrival time at Rassada Pier and Sea Angel Pier and up to 5 hours from arrival time at Chalong Pier until your flight departure.

Can I cancel a roundtrip booking?
Roundtrip cancellation policies vary by operator and are handled by 12Go. Generally, if neither leg has been used, you may be eligible for a partial or full refund up to the deadline shown on your booking. If you have already taken the outbound leg, the return is usually non-refundable. Check your 12Go booking page for exact terms or contact their support.

Do I need to print out my ticket?
Most operators now accept mobile tickets — just show the e-ticket from 12Go on your phone at the counter. A few smaller operators still prefer a printed copy, and your confirmation email from 12Go will say so if that is the case. When in doubt, print it as a backup — internet at some piers can be patchy.
