아오낭 (노빠라때라 피어)
아오낭 — Moo 3, Muang, Krabi
Located on the northern end of the Nopparat Thara Beach, you'll be surrounded by still, clear water and off-coast islands that can be reached on foot in low tide. The pier is on the edge of the most developed area of Ao Nang, lined with hotels, restaurants and food stands that are close to the beach.
Staying near the pier is ideal for travelers who are looking for a true relaxing island experience. Most days can be spent in the sunshine of the beach, periodically taking a dip in the shallow water to cool off.
Ferries will be ready to transport you to nearby islands and peninsulas whenever the mood strikes. And upon returning to the island, you can watch the sunset with a tasty beverage in hand at the popular Luna Bar around the corner from beach road.
Ferries from Nopparat Thara Pier
Nopparat Thara is Ao Nang's ferry gateway. The busiest crossing is the Ao Nang to Phuket ferry, with several departures a day taking around an hour. Boats to Koh Phi Phi take about fifty minutes by speedboat, and services continue down the coast to Koh Lanta and — in high season — on the long express run to Koh Lipe. A short transfer also links the pier with Krabi Town, and longtail boats to Railay leave from the beach nearby.
Getting to the pier
The pier is at the western end of the Ao Nang beach road, only a few minutes from most Ao Nang hotels — taxis and songthaews cruise the beach road at all hours, and its position gives roughly equal access to Krabi Town and the airport, about forty minutes away. Many tickets include a minivan pick-up from Ao Nang and Krabi hotels. Plan to check in about 45 minutes before your boat leaves.
