Beach Jetty

Koh Ngai, also called Koh Hai, is an island so small that most people can walk across it. It's just 4 kilometers long and 2 kilometers across, but don't let its small size fool you - the island is paradise for birdwatching. It's a destination for exploring marine life too, and some travelers say they share the beach with monkeys. The island is an easy day trip for travelers from Koh Mook and Koh Kradan who want to experience the low-key culture of Koh Ngai's undeveloped beaches and forests.
The island does have some wonderful accommodations, including world-class resorts and beachfront cottages, as well as a quirky campground and bar in the northeast of the island called the "Light My Fire Society". The latter is something of a primitive and communal enclave on Koh Ngai, which may not always have electricity and has no ATMs.
There are no roads, and there is no modern pier as one finds in the larger ferry destinations. So travelers need to make sure they also have made arrangements for a smaller transfer boat from the ferry, which does not come all the way into the coast. Phi Phi Ferry offers one round-trip to each connecting location daily - and there are quite a few - but that's only during the high season between November and April.
