Laem Kruat Pier is a small pier located in the Krabi Province of Thailand. It is the main gateway to Koh Jum, a beautiful island known for its laid-back atmosphere, stunning beaches and lush rainforests.

How to get to Laem Kruat Pier

Laem Kruat Pier is located about 18 kilometers from Krabi Town. You can get to the pier by taxi, minibus or public bus. The taxi ride will take about 30 minutes and cost around 550 THB. The minibus ride will take about 45 minutes and cost around 150 THB. The public bus ride will take about 1 hour and cost around 50 THB.

Things to know before you go

  • Peak season: The peak season for Koh Jum Island is from November to April. During this time, the island can be quite busy and accommodation rates are higher.
  • Low season: The low season for Koh Jum Island is from May to October. During this time, the island is less crowded and accommodation rates are lower. However, some businesses on the island may be closed during the low season.
  • Weather: Koh Jum Island has a tropical climate with hot and humid weather year-round. The rainy season is from May to October.
  • Boat departures: Longtail boats depart from Laem Kruat Pier to Koh Jum Island every 30-60 minutes, depending on demand. The boat ride takes about 45 minutes.
  • Luggage: Longtail boats can accommodate a limited amount of luggage. If you have a lot of luggage, you may need to pay an additional fee.
  • Arrival on Koh Jum: Longtail boats arrive at Mutu Pier on the east side of Koh Jum Island. Most resorts are located on the west side of the island, so you will need to take a transfer to your resort.
