Koh Phi Phi
When you choose Laem Tong on Koh Phi Phi Don, you're choosing more than just a beautiful beach. The island, and its nearby neighbors offer some of the best diving and snorkeling in the world - with colorful reefs and coral that make the underwater views just as breathtaking as they are on land.
After traveling from Tonsai Pier to Laem Tong, you'll find it's a serene location with modern amenities, including high-quality restaurants. The resorts offer five-star dining experiences, but some of the local options - including a seafood restaurant where food is prepared by true "sea gypsies" - offer the best of both worlds. Guests soak up some of the island culture at spots as varied as the open-sided Sawasdee Restaurant with its wooden floors on the beach, and the Jasmin BBQ restaurant with its nightlife buzz.
In addition to snorkeling and diving, Laem Tong Beach offers the clear water, white sands and tropical environment the Phi Phi Islands are known for. It's less traveled than some of the nearby locations, and perfect for both the solitude and relaxation of vacation, as well as the more laid-back social scene.
The bay itself is peaceful and protected, but the ferry itself does not come into shore at Laem Tong. Some journeys to the Phi Phi Islands begin and end with a longtail boat ride from the ferry arrival at Tonsai Pier, and they're usually arranged through one of the resorts on the islands, which include the Phi Phi Holiday Inn Resort. Be sure to consider travel arrangements to and from the ferry when you plan your trip, and consider the season when double-checking on availability. For travelers booked at the Holiday Inn, the Phi Phi Natural, Zeavola or Erawan, please make sure we have the location at least one day before we depart, to help coordinate the transfers.
