Ferry to Koh Tao

Getting from Chumphon to Koh Tao takes around 120 minutes on the quickest option — a short van transfer to the pier followed by the Gulf crossing. We offer departures through multiple piers including Pak Nam Chumphon and Tha Yang Pier, as well as pick-ups from Chumphon Bus Terminal and Train Station for those arriving by road or rail.

The sea crossing

The boat arrives at Mae Haad Pier, Koh Tao's central landing point, putting you steps from the main beach road, dive schools and restaurants. Several operators cover this route, giving you around seven departures a day spread from early morning right through to a late-night crossing — the 21:00 sailing suits those coming off an evening train.

Fares start from THB 451. Morning sailings tend to offer the smoothest sea conditions. Koh Tao is a year-round destination on the Gulf side, though October and November can bring passing squalls — if in doubt, travel by morning.
