Departing Koh Tao
Arriving Koh Phangan
Our boats leave from Mae Haad Pier, Koh Tao's main pier right in the centre of the island's social hub, and dock at Thong Sala Pier — the gateway to Koh Phangan's west coast, with easy connections to the beaches, resorts and the interior of the island. Several operators sail this route, with first departures around 07:05 and further sailings through the morning.
A short island hop
At around 45 minutes on the fastest boats, this is a genuinely quick sea crossing between two popular islands. With a combined vehicle mix, a few services use van connections, but the direct ferry remains the standard choice. Roughly a dozen departures a day means you can fit this crossing around whatever else you have planned.
The Gulf is typically at its calmest April through October. Fares start from THB 450. Koh Phangan is famous for its monthly parties, but plenty of visitors come for quieter beaches, yoga retreats and the view from the headlands — Thong Sala Pier puts you right at the start of it.
