What to expect on the journey
Many services combine a van or coach transfer with the ferry crossing — a practical approach given that Krabi Town sits inland from the coast. The ferry leg itself crosses the Andaman between Krabi's piers and Phuket's east coast; the sea is calmest and the ride smoothest during the November-to-April dry season. Morning departures are popular and generally give you the full day on arrival.
