Ferry to Koh Yao Yai

Koh Yao Yai lies just east of Phuket in Phang Nga Bay, and the crossing is one of the quickest island transfers we offer: about 30 minutes on a speedboat, a little longer on the slower ferries. With dozens of departures a day spread across seven operators, you rarely wait long for the next boat.

Where the boats leave and arrive

Departures run from Rassada Pier, Chalong Pier, the Numchai pier at Cape Panwa and the Lomprayah office on Montree Road, so pick the pier closest to your hotel. On Koh Yao Yai you land at Baan Laem Yai Pier in the north or Chong Lard Pier on the east coast, depending on the service.

Times and what to expect

The first boats leave around 07:00 and services continue through the morning and early afternoon, with sailings at 07:30, 08:30, 09:00, 09:30 and roughly hourly after that. Fares start at THB 390; some tickets include a van pick-up from your Phuket hotel to the pier, which is worth it if you are staying on the west coast beaches. Luggage travels with you on deck, so keep valuables in a dry bag.
