Railay has no road connection to the mainland — the only way out is by sea, and that is exactly how we operate this route. Our boats leave from Railay Pier and head across to Ao Nang Pier, a short and scenic hop past the limestone walls that make this corner of the Andaman one of the most photographed coastlines in Thailand. From Ao Nang, onward transfers reach Krabi Town, Klong Jilad Pier, and Krabi Airport.
Departures and what to expect
We run around 58 crossings a day, with early boats from 05:00 and services running through the morning and into the afternoon. Because demand is highest in the morning hours, we recommend booking ahead if you have a flight or onward connection to catch.
The sea between Railay and Ao Nang is generally calm, especially in the dry season from November through April. The crossing itself is brief — around 15 minutes on the water — so there is little need to worry about swell. Bring your bags secured and enjoy the view of the cliffs on the way out.
