Asian Tsunami Remembrance

Large crowds of locals and tourists gathered at Loma Park on Patong Beach on December 26 for the “Light Up Patong” ceremony to mark the 9th anniversary of the 2004 Asian Tsunami. A minute’s silence was held at the event, as people buried candles in the sand and built sandcastles around them, while remembering the 2004 tsunami victims.
